What this project changes in healthcare: the problem to solve

  • How this project is changing healthcare: the problem to be solved
  • Respiratory diseases (asthma, COPD, pneumonia) affect millions of people and place a heavy burden on healthcare systems
  • Diagnosis still relies on traditional auscultation, which depends on the human ear, with variations in quality and a risk of error
  • Centralised methods remain slow, costly and inaccessible, particularly in low-resource areas
  • The increase in chronic diseases and pandemics reinforces the need for rapid, reliable and decentralised solutions

The envisaged solution

  • Pneumoscope: pocket-sized device combining a digital stethoscope, oximeter and thermometer, assisted by artificial intelligence
  • Real-time collection and transmission of lung sounds and vital data via an intuitive mobile application
  • DeepBreath algorithm trained on a large clinical database to classify pathologies and prioritise risks
  • Fast and reliable diagnosis directly at the point of care, reducing delays and costs
  • Solution designed for telehealth and adapted to resource-limited environments

Hands-on support from H4

  • Initial meeting at home
  • Arranging interviews with carers

What impact on the next steps of the project?
